From school to Botak Jones then off to Clarke Quay! Its been Botak Jones in quick succession having just gone there with Jiali yesterday after previous failed attempts to go there. Had heard so much about the place before from the multiple food blogs to Hardwarezone outings and yet, haven’t gone there before until last night. It was packed, and well, when browsing through the menu, with the name such as “YOU-CRAZY-WHAT” and a description as follows: …
here Comes The Rain
“darkness falls, and the rain settles to a steady beat, eyes closed in a trance, and the fingers dance across the lonely street” Ah. A magical rainy night that draws me like a moth to a light. When I was a child, rainy nights were always something that attracted me. If I were to wake in the middle of the night, sometimes waiting for my dad to come home, I would be inexplicably drawn to the sound of the rain and I would open the window and stare as the raindrops fall steadily. There is always a nice smell associated...…
Going to the Zoo
“We’re goin to the zoo, zoo, zoo How about you, you, you? You can come too, too, too Were goin to the zoo, zoo, zoo… “ Happy song for a happy day, end of this “doesn’t feel like term break” term break marks a special visit to the zoo. Having not gone there since like primary school, I couldn’t really remember how the zoo once was and it was very much a fresh new experience, albeit limited as well, zoos are still zoos :) How different can they get! At the entrance.. Parrots! I think I remembered correctly though it...…
one Of The Many Important Things In Life
I was on the way back home after lab when i bumped into Weiliang and David. It’s been a while since we caught up. We first stopped at their workplace Munchie Monkey’s.The manager was around to, guess the culture there is pretty slack, seems nice actually! When Weiliang’s gf arrive, she didn’t really like the food there and we changed to the jap place @ yih. Never eaten there before, even when it was Genki previously. I was suspecting that the sushi wouldn’t be fresh given the lack of crowd but it was ok, didn’t turned out that bad, their...…
The Chinese New Year Entry
Happy Chinese New Year! For the past number of Chinese New Years, I would typically get up around 7+ am, greet my grandfather, grandmother, dad.. and in return, would receive the customary red packets. As we are officially not celebrating this year, the occasion does seem somewhat strange and muted. Looking back at the past, when I was much younger, I had always looked forward to Chinese New Year. It was the only extended public holiday in the entire calendar, sometimes stretching up to 4 days if we were lucky. It was always awesome when the Chinese New Year holiday...…
Our First Valentine
Woe betides me. I have fallen for the common cliché of the most commercialized day in history - Valentine’s Day. Buildup to the day was hectic but still very much fun. I must really thank Andy and Linghuey for helping me with the ideas, settings, and keeping me company as we go about shopping! To spruce up the place, I even gotten some scented candles for a more romantic setting. Didn’t know how to place the candles initially and yep, Andy gave me the idea of floating them in water and it was by chance that I had a nice...…
